Free transportation options available during U.S. Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. – Track and field fans who want to avoid parking hassles near Hayward Field during the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field will have plenty of transportation options to choose from this year.

Thanks to an ongoing partnership between TrackTown USA and two local bus companies – MTR Western and Lane Transit District – fans can attend the meet or Fan Festival at Hayward Field without driving.

And it’s all free!

Similar to the past two U.S. Olympic Trials, a Park & Ride service will be offered at two large parking lots: Autzen Stadium (2727 Leo Harris Parkway) and South Eugene High School (400 E. 19th Avenue).

Free shuttles will be provided by MTR Western at these locations. The shuttles will take people to and from Hayward Field every 15-to-20 minutes. The quick 10-minute ride begins as early as 6:10 a.m. and ends as late as 10:30 p.m., depending on the daily competition schedule.

You can access the complete Spectator Park & Ride Schedule HERE, along with a public transit map which shows the pick-up and drop-off locations for both the Autzen Stadium and South Eugene High School shuttles. For those in a walking mood, check out these MAPS which show the pathway on foot from both Autzen Stadium and South Eugene High School to Hayward Field.

In addition, anybody with tickets or credentials to the U.S. Olympic Trials can ride the bus for FREE throughout the duration of the meet (July 1-10). This includes all routes in the EmX and regular LTD bus system. Here’s a LINK to the EmX schedule during the Trials.

Finally, cyclists can take advantage of a free bike valet service, courtesy of TrackTown USA, at the corner of 15th Avenue and University Street, adjacent to Gerlinger Hall on the University of Oregon campus.
